Job Description

Job Title: Senior Scientist (Inorganic Synthesis)

Our Client: Our client stands as a global leader in advanced materials, used in various applications such as vehicle electrification, industrial automation, consumer electronics, energy-efficient lighting, air and water pollution control, superalloys, and many others. They believe in delivering high-quality advanced industrial products and exemplary service to customers globally. As a Senior Scientist, you will lead and manage scientific projects, mentor junior scientists, and play a key role in client interactions. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing the chemical and physical characterization of synthesized materials, managing project timelines, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality in the laboratory.

The Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage scientific projects to develop new and technically innovative solutions that positively impact production
* Oversee the chemical and physical characterization of synthesized materials according to procedures and protocols
* Drive the scale-up of materials from bench to pilot-plant and manage their implementation to full production
* Prepare high-quality, detailed technical reports and effectively communicate findings to management through oral and written presentations
* Ensure a laboratory culture of 'safety first' is always maintained
* Visit clients and communicate with them to understand their needs and provide technical support
* Mentor and guide junior scientists, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high performance
* Manage project timelines and resources efficiently to meet business objectives

The Requirements:

* Preferably at least 8 years of relevant work experience with a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
* Extensive experience in inorganic chemistry and synthesis
* Proven track record in managing multiple priorities and leading scientific projects
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to internal and external audiences
* Strong attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to be both strategic and hands-on to overcome challenges in an effective and timely manner
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with clients and team members
