Technology and Innovation Centre in Singapore to drive forward research and development in precision
motion control.
As an R&D Hardware Engineer, you will work closely with experts in mechanical engineering, sensors, and
advanced controls to develop and integrate various hardware modules (including mechatronics, sensors,
electronics, and more) tailored to industrial application requirements for next-generation motion control
systems.
Job Description
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyzing and translating customer requirements into measurable specifications for subsystems or
systems.
• Collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to integrate, build, and evaluate complex
mechatronic prototypes, and developing solutions for precision positioning applications.
• Conducting feasibility studies, analyses, simulations, and hands-on experiments.
• Documenting technical reports, program codes, detailed designs, and drawings for purposes such as
patent applications and publishing in leading journals and conferences.
• Designing solutions customized for high-precision positioning in semiconductor and/or photonics
manufacturing applications.
• Partnering with global R&D teams across various locations to leverage international expertise.
Requirements
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics, or electronics engineering, or a related
field.
• Preferably 5 or more years of professional or R&D experience in a relevant engineering field.
• Proficiency in precision positioning systems and motion control, including technologies such as
piezoelectric drives and actuators, and related control systems.
• Strong technical skills in PLC controller design and programming, motion hardware conceptualization and
mechanical design, as well as control system algorithms.
• Programming expertise in PLC controllers, C/C++, MATLAB, and Python is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative and team-oriented environmen
