Our Client:
Our client is a newly established energy/oil and gas trading company. With 17 years of history in the oil & gas trading, they are a great company to grow with. They are actively looking to hire a Trade Finance Manager for the Singapore branch.
The Responsibilities:
* Handle full set of account including AR, AP, GL, Journal, P&L, Balance Sheet etc. and other day-to-day accounting operations
* Managing the execution Imports & Export LC, LC confirmations, Discounting, Guarantees, Performance Bonds, Tenders etc.
* Handling LC amendments, reviewing the underlying contracts, checking documentation, negotiating key terms with banks or internal stakeholders
* Be the principal and essential intermediary between operators and bank's LC functions as well as front-office
* Ensure follow up on all the documentary process and payments
* Monitoring the daily financing needs for the Company's trading activities
* Working and maintaining relations with our key financing banks and internal stakeholders.
* Proactively respond to risks of document discrepancy and clean presentation of Letters of Credit, both internally and externally
* Management of inventory financing including monitoring, reporting, and acting to address any financing issues with internal and external stakeholders
* Assisting in the structuring of prepayments and project financing structures
* Negotiating bilateral trade finance documentation with banks, both in English and Mandarin given the role
* Ensure that regulatory, bank's policies, guidelines, controls, and compliance requirements are adhered to. Identify documentary discrepancies, transaction exceptions and/or non-compliance with regulations and escalate them to the relevant parties for resolution
The Requirements:
* Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
* At least 5 years' experience in Trade Finance/Structured Trade Finance department in the Oil & Gas Industry or Banks
* Detailed knowledge of UCP600, ISBP and ISP98 and general commodity trading incoterms
* Good understanding of physical trading operations and inventory management
* Meticulous and able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
* Good facilitation and negotiation skills with prior experience in banking legal documentation
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with banks and other external counterparties
* Proficiency in Chinese to be able to liaise effectively with native Mandarin-speaking stakeholders and to understand Chinese documents
* Knowledge of hedging, derivatives and prepayment structures would be advantageous
* Experience in handling LNG transactions would be an advantage
