Job Description

Job Title: QA Engineer

Our Client: We are working with a semiconductor technology design and manufacturing company that specializes in developing integrated optoelectronic solutions for various applications. Their technology enables the integration of multiple functions into a single chip, resulting in cost-effective, compact, and high-performance products. They are seeking to hire a QA Engineer for their Engineering Team in Singapore.

The main duties will be to assist in performing Quality Assurance and Engineering duties such as quality inspections, maintaining the Quality Management System handling customer complaints, and managing supplier feedback. This ensures products meet the necessary quality standards, minimizes quality costs, and enhances customer satisfaction while complying with procedural and process requirements.

The Responsibilities:

* Manage Quality Issues: Oversee all quality-related matters within the manufacturing team, including internal, supplier, customer, and warranty issues
* Root Cause Analysis: Identify root causes of product quality issues and implement permanent corrective actions
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues promptly, ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld
* Auditing: Conduct product and process audits to ensure quality control
* Documentation and Compliance: Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of control plans and associated documentation; assist with adherence to the Quality Management System (ISO9001)
* Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report on quality-related KPIs, such as scrap and rework levels
* Production Authority: Authorize stopping production for unacceptable goods/processes; generate inspection reports and nonconforming material reports
* Quality Procedures: Write and review product inspection procedures, manufacturing procedures, test method validations, and quality inspection plans
* Training and Development: Assist with quality awareness training; undertake continuous training and development
* Project Support: Participate in and support process improvement, new product development, and continuous improvement activities; plan and track project tasks
* Customer Techniques: Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques like Six Sigma and Error Proofing
* Benchmarking and Trends: Conduct benchmarking studies; stay updated on manufacturing and engineering trends related to product quality
* KPI Management: Manage Supplier and Customer KPIs (e.g., PPM, cost recovery, warranty indicators)
* Leadership: Lead and support technicians and engineers; provide guidance and training to team members
* Reporting and Presentations: Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients

The Requirements:

* Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred
* At least 2 years' experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control inspections and testing in semiconductor or electronic manufacturing
* Experience of dealing with customers and suppliers
* Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Problem Solving Technique
* Knowledge in Quality Management System (ISO9001)
