Our Client:
Our client is a global leader in shipping and logistics with focus in Maritime Industry, headquartered in France. They are actively looking to hire an Ethics and Compliance Officer to take charge of compliance and regulatory matters for the group's business within APAC region.
The Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement communication strategy and compliance training programs to educate employees and increase their awareness of updated legal and ethical standards related to their jobs
* Provide expertise on ethic and compliance matters in APAC region, monitor compliance with ongoing, training and filing requirements
* Handle internal queries on regulatory requirements and compliance policies and procedures
* Provide advisory support on regulatory and compliance matter, disseminate any changes across the business
* Support the management of "Ethics hotline" to ensure employee view it as an effective tool for guidance seeking or reporting of potential violations in compliance
* Actively promote the code of conduct of company, as well as any policies and procedures or new development in law and regulation
* Evaluate effectiveness of compliance program by measuring and monitoring activity and trends
* Participate and arrange for periodic compliance audits
* Manage ongoing regulatory filings/ request/ exams
* Liaison with regulatory bodies as well as internal stakeholders, ensure responses are done timely in appropriate manner
* Maintain strong and productive relationship with regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent and appropriate representation of business
* Collect employee feedback on program through survey or other means
* Building external reputation of the group's business related to its commitment to compliance, and maintain appropriate visibility and involvement in the region's ethics and compliance community
* Monitor regulatory development, conduct impact analysis, and propose next course of action
* Design and implement effective risk analysis methodologies and provide recommendations on control enhancements to mitigate risks communication, and other appropriate support
* Prepare materials to provide compliance input at internal governance meetings
* Take part in compliance projects under global workplan, support delivery and manage assigned special projects
* Contribute to development of group's network of ethics and compliance referents in APAC through training
The Requirements:
* Degree in Legal Studies/ Business Administration or relevant compliance related discipline
* Must have knowledge and experience in compliance and personal data protection
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in law firm or with in-house compliance function
* Excellent in communication and presentation to various stakeholder
* Must have strong business acumen and good interpersonal skills to communicate with cross-functional teams
* Candidate with experience in Shipping Industry will be advantageous
