Job Title: Equipment Resource Manager (Geophysical, Geotechnical)

Our Client: Our client is a global leader in the marine site characterization industry, specializing in geophysical survey, geotechnical site investigation, and coastal resilience. They provide cutting-edge solutions and services across the Asia Pacific region, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability in every project.

The Equipment Resource Manager (ERM) plays a crucial role in managing the technical equipment resources essential for offshore projects within the business line. This position requires an experienced engineer with extensive knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, particularly within the marine survey and geotechnical industries. The ERM will oversee equipment maintenance, inventory management, and ensure optimal performance and availability of resources, supporting both onshore and offshore teams.

The Responsibilities:

Equipment Resource Management:

* Manage and maintain the internal inventory of survey and light-geotechnical equipment, including third-party hires
* Ensure all equipment is calibrated, tested, and ready for deployment on project vessels

Team Supervision:

* Directly supervise workshop leads and teams responsible for electronic, electrical, and hydraulic systems maintenance
* Coordinate with third-party contractors for equipment maintenance and repairs

Operational Support:

* Provide day-to-day technical support to project managers and offshore personnel, ensuring troubleshooting and planned maintenance compliance
* Collaborate with vessel resource managers and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance

Strategic Planning:

* Develop long-term equipment resourcing strategies, including annual CAPEX planning and procurement
* Participate in root cause investigations for equipment failures and prepare technical memos and bulletins

Budget Management:

* Prepare and manage annual OPEX budgets for equipment maintenance
* Oversee procurement processes for spares, consumables, and services to ensure timely equipment maintenance

The Requirements:

* HND or Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* 8-15 years of experience in maintaining technical equipment in the marine geophysical or geotechnical industries
* 3-8 years of management experience, leading onshore workshop teams and coordinating with offshore technical teams
* Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, particularly in marine survey and geotechnical equipment
* Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
* Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams
* Experience in the marine survey geophysics/geotechnics industry, with the ability to engage and earn the trust of a diverse technical workforce
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to deliver results independently
