Job Description

Job Title: Technical Superintendent (Bunkering)

Our Client: Our client, a subsidiary of a leading marine fuels supplier, is a prominent player in the bunkering industry. Specializing in the supply of marine fuels, our client operates a fleet of bunker tankers that deliver fuel to ships in port and at sea. The company is committed to providing reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible bunkering services, adhering to stringent safety and operational standards. Their operations are strategically positioned in Singapore, one of the world's busiest ports, allowing them to serve a diverse clientele including shipping companies and vessel operators with high-quality marine fuel solutions.

The Responsibilities:

* Supervise all technical and safety aspects of company vessels, implementing company policies on these matters
* Oversee repair, maintenance, and servicing of vessels as instructed by the Technical Manager.
* Negotiate with Class Surveyors for vessel surveys and report to the Technical Manager
* Advise the Master and Chief Engineer on planned maintenance and arrange for ship staff to carry out maintenance tasks
* Inspect vessel machinery spaces for cleanliness and maintenance progress
* Conduct damage surveys on vessels, including costing, reporting, and completing necessary documentation
* Travel to ports as needed to supervise repairs and restoration of company vessels and equipment, following instructions from the Technical Manager
* Prepare proposals for new regulations compliance, ensuring ship adherence with regulatory authority or recognized organization approval
* Act as a liaison officer and trainer for cadet officers from Singapore Polytechnic
* When visiting a vessel or during dry-docking, manage all technical matters locally, oversee repairs, servicing, and sailing, ensure prompt dispatch of service instructions, conduct general inspections, and report findings to the Technical Manager
* Maintain safety equipment according to legislative and company standards on board vessels
* Submit and monitor budgets for areas of expenditure responsibility, reporting any variances
* Report relevant information regarding sea-going personnel to the Technical Manager

The Requirements:

* Holder of COC Class 1 or 2 with sailing experience on oil tankers
* Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Technical Superintendent in ship management operations
* Preferred experience as a Chief Engineer with sea experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and demonstrate good organizational skills
* Analytical, independent, results-oriented, resourceful, and proactive
