While COVID-19 may have carved out different routines for most of us, keeping our environment clean is still as important as ever. Hence 2021, RGF have looked for ways to make a difference from a safe distance - Doing a beach clean-up drive!
Being under the sun for an hour, picking up cigarette butts, tissue papers, drink cans, and other bulk waste and even filling up an entire trash bag with garbage lying by the seashore made us realize that if we want to enjoy more of what is left in our environment, it matters to be one step ahead in every decision we make.
Having a successful beach clean-up does not end after we have gathered our trash and determined how much we have collected. It is also a way for us to understand the kinds of garbage that mostly end up in the ocean. By the way, we gathered a total of 116 kilograms of garbage.
Though what we have done was just a small drop in the ocean, but, really, it was part of a ripple effect of positive change.
Disclaimer: RGF has sectorised the park and allocated maximum of 7 volunteers in a group per sector. All the volunteers have complied with the NEA / PHC safe distancing measures.
